1. What is a Cookie?
Cookies are a feature of web browser software (Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, etc.) that allow web servers to recognize the computer used to access a site. They are small pieces of data that are stored on a user's computer in a folder dedicated for use by the web browser. For example, cookies may be used on a web site to simplify subsequent interactions with that site by the same user or to use the information to streamline the user's transaction on related web pages. This makes it easier for a user to move from site to site and to complete transactions over the Internet. Cookies should make your online experience easier and more personalized.

The MathTV.com web site makes use of "session cookies" only. Session cookies store information needed by the web server in order to avoid asking you for your password (if any) with each new page you visit. No other information is stored in session cookies. (In addition, password information itself is not stored in session cookies.) Session cookies are deleted when your session on the MathTV.com site ends (i.e.: when you leave the MathTV.com site).

2. Log Files
When you visit our site, we collect your IP address and store it in a "log file". We also collect information about the browser and operating system you use, and store that information in log files. We use IP addresses we collect to analyze trends, administer our site, track users' movements within the site, track user access just before (but not after) they visit the site, and gather broad demographic information for use in aggregate form.
