I can't get the videos to play on my computer. What's wrong?

If you're having trouble playing videos:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player. You can find it here.
  • Try playing these test videos:
       Test Number One
       Test Number Two
  • The site has been extensively tested with the following browsers: Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari. Try using one of these browsers.
  • If you still cannot get the videos to play, please Contact Us and be sure to include your computer's operating system (e.g. Vista, Windows 7, MacOS, etc.), which browser you're using and who your Internet Service Provider is.

The videos keep stopping and starting. What's wrong?

If the videos don't play smoothly, it is usually because your Internet connection is slow. If this occurs, click on the pause button and allow the entire video to load before clicking the play button.

Why can't I watch the videos on my iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad?

All the MathTV videos are encoded using Adobe Flash. Flash is currently unavailable for iOS devices.

I don't always have Internet access. Can I purchase the videos on a CD-ROM or DVD?

The videos are currently available online only. There are currently no plans to offer them for sale on CD-ROM or DVD.

What's the difference between a Premium Membership and a regular membership?

A regular membership allows users to access videos displayed under the Videos by Topic tab and create and share playlists using those videos. A MathTV.com Premium Membership offers the same features as the regular membership and users get access to MathTV.com's online books, linked videos, worksheets and the complete answers to all problem sets in the book. A Premium Membership is $20 for six months or comes free with the purchase of one of our printed textbooks from the online store.
